Well, OK, everything seems to be working correctly so I guess this can be made public now.

Welcome to the new version of the News section, which runs on WordPress. I had actually installed WordPress on this site back in January (which is what that post from January 4th is all about), but I wanted to create my own WordPress theme to match the rest of the site and hadn’t done so at that point. The thought of creating a custom theme was a little intimidating at first since I had never done anything involving WordPress in the past. Luckily, plenty of tutorials exist online for that exact sort of thing. I followed one and, although there was a bit of a learning curve, found the process to not be that terrible and my theme was completed within a few days.

I passively had a personal blog of sorts in the early 2000’s, back before social media blew up and ruined everyone’s life. I missed the days of posting more than one sentence on the Internet at a time and not having sponsored posts constantly shoved in your face, therefore I tinkered around and put together what you see here.

Keep an eye on this space for updates and whatever else I see fit (and I can create posts from my phone, too, which is always handy).
